Hey, this is Rachel...

Get to know me and what I'm about.

I can do a lot of things but I choose to call myself an illustrator.

My main focus is to help people and their businesses with illustrative design. I've worked independently & as an in house designer for 4 years, but my experience never stops growing.

My Biggest PAssion

Illustration

Oh the love I have for illustration is BIG.

Vividly gigantic! For a while, I wondered how I could share this with people. How can I make illustrations that help people as much as it can capture an audience? And with brand identity illustrations, I have definitely found it!

What I do is so important for people like you and I. Creative entrepreneurs and business owners want to be seen, but not only that, be respected and heard. I want to create the visual identity that describes a strong and winning brand. For myself and for you, too. Having someone else to be moderately passionate about your business is one thing. But, to have someone else to be just as passionate as you are is so much better!

I find so much excitement in a new project! If I'm being honest, finding my finished work in public is the biggest thrill!

My take on

Identity Design

A brand identity has to be more than just a “dope” logo.

We need to consider the colors, fonts, layouts, and how we present the brand in general. There needs to be research to back up all of the design choices, too. Let’s face it, you can be pretty all day, but if you aren’t resonating with your core market then what was the decorative logo for? You need a strategy on how to use your visuals successfully. You are trying to achieve success and look like a pro doing it, aren’t you?

That’s why I want to give you a full identity design.
Not just a “dope” logo.

Your brand’s identity should be recognizable and start a buzz around what you do. I truly believe that illustrative design can bring about more than just a buzz but a fierce following. I love a challenge, especially when it calls upon my biggest talent.

A Bit More Technical

Here is a summary of my experience

Small Town to Big City

Corporate Office to Home Studio

After a leaving my Pre-Engineering program...

I left my small town in Illinois and went straight to Florida to go after my "dream" of becoming an animator. At Full Sail, I completed 2 years in the Computer Animation program. At that point I felt that I was still missing something. I left Florida and back to Illinois to figure out where my strengths were as an illustrator. So that's what I went after.

There, I met my future husband. And because his dreams of being a great architect aligned with my dream of becoming a great illustrator, we moved to Chicago to go after those dreams.

There in Chicago, I landed many opportunities to work with young brands needing logos and other branding elements. I gained experience working with great graphic designers as their assistant by helping them maintain their brand standards. I learned about the importance of consistency and delivering work that is above and beyond expectations. During all of that time working for other brands, I found that I had a hidden passion for planning and building multiple art pieces that works together to convey a bigger message. So in order to grow and learn, I put a lot of my focus on building a better brand for the last company I worked for. I was blessed to have the opportunity to help update and shape their brand identity for them.

Chicago brought me to have 4 years of experience as an independent designer and a team player for small brands. All of these experiences bring me to this point in time: delivering you the best branding visuals.

“Effective problem solving in design requires a balance of strategy and spontaneity, intelligence and creativity.”

Just ME

Rachel B. Cadet

From the small town of Metropolis...

Yes, like Superman. No, it's not a big city. Think like Smallville. It's a funny little town that sleeps promptly at 9pm. There was plenty of room for for my wild imagination as a child. I loved it growing up, but as I got older I realized that there was lack of opportunity for what I wanted for my life. So I left to explore my options.

The universe blessed me with a life partner that shares the same dream of traveling and doing what we love. Art and Design.

My husband, one of my biggest supporters, has always pushed me to be bigger and better everyday. Because he is an architect, he has unique mind for design as well. So he definitely understands the need for provacative visuals.

On the days that I just want to doodlebop, I usually draw and build horror comics. I love planning a story, building characters and backgrounds just as much as I love creating brand identities. You can always find me with at least a tiny sketchbook and a pencil in my pocket.
