For this box, I was tasked with illustrating a box for the ever-popular Llama. But, since this product is a creative “Paint Your Own” ceramic figure for kids, it was something this mainstream animal wasn’t often seen presented as. Sassafras has a full product line of Paint Your Own Garden and Holiday figures, but with this short collection I was given the opportunity to add something fresh and clean to the mix. Lucky for me, I was presented with only a white box and a broad theme to adhere to!
Even though creating fun logos is my bread and butter, I needed to keep it simple. I chose a hand-written font to pair with the wrap-around illustration. My main focus was make sure that the illustration took a front seat, while all of the information only complemented. My color palette features pastel colors with a bright citrus fusion. I thought it was a great combination to inspire creativity for the kids painting this figure.
My client loved the whimsical design and the fluffy llama that ties it all together.
